1、 Application scenarios


The application of PCB in the field of security is very extensive. As the core carrier of electronic devices, it provides hardware support for various security equipment. The following are the main application scenarios of PCBs in the field of security:

Video surveillance system: cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), video encoders, etc; Access control and biometric systems: devices such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, iris scanning, etc; Intrusion alarm system: infrared detectors, vibration sensors, smoke alarms, etc; Smart home security: smart door locks, smart cameras, environmental monitoring sensors; Communication and network equipment: security dedicated switches, routers, 5G base stations; Special environmental applications: explosion-proof cameras, petrochemical security equipment, underwater monitoring systems; Drones and Robot Security: Inspection Drones, Security Patrol Robots;

 



2、 Difficulties in control


The characteristics of security circuit boards are: they require a certain level of reliability, anti-interference, and safety. In addition, due to the diverse application environments of security products, the adaptability (durability) of the products to different environments needs to be considered. Balancing costs and feasibility of mass production simultaneously requires the following controls in the manufacturing of circuit boards:

1. Material selection: Some security products are used in relatively harsh environments and require 24-hour operation. CAF (ion migration) problems are more likely to occur, so CAF resistant materials are needed.

2. Hole thickness: Hole thickness has a significant impact on the stability of circuit boards, mainly in two aspects: affecting the consistency of copper plating holes, which may lead to local thinning of copper holes, resulting in tearing and short circuits; On the other hand, excessive hole thickness can lead to CAF problems, resulting in temporary malfunction or false alarms of security equipment.

3. Signal integrity: Some security monitoring boards (mainly security servers and DVR monitoring equipment) have multiple sets of differential impedances, which require high signal requirements. The following points need to be controlled: etching of circuit boards, and the etching accuracy should be well controlled; The electroplating process requires controlling the uniformity of electroplating; The compression process requires controlling the thickness of the dielectric layer.

4. Cost control: In the field of security, due to the large market size, fast product iteration speed, fierce competition, and increasingly strict policy compliance, profit margins are being squeezed. The significant cost pressure on end customers in the security field is due to the price advantage of PCB boards, which is one of the important competitive advantages in the security industry.

 

How is the company managed and controlled?

We first entered the field of security circuit boards in 2006 and obtained certifications such as IS9001, ISO14001, UL in the same year. We also obtained TS16949 certification in 2008 and established a strict quality management system based on the basic requirements of 5 management tools to ensure zero functional issues. The following are our company's control measures:

In terms of materials, we use top domestic brands such as KB, Zhiyuan, and Shanghai Nanya for our copper-clad laminates, all of which have excellent CAF resistance properties. Copper foil, copper balls, ink, dry film and other materials are also made from top domestic and foreign brands. Ensure quality from the source.

In terms of manufacturing, we guarantee a minimum thickness of ≥ 18um for perforated copper, while complying with IPC2 standards and minimizing production costs as much as possible; We guarantee that the hole thickness is ≤ 25.4um (60um for holes larger than 0.8mm), which is far below the industry standard, to prevent CAF problems; Our etching tolerance is ± 10% or 1.5mil, the plating uniformity COV is ≤ 8%, and the impedance tolerance is controlled to ± 10% to ensure signal integrity.

In terms of cost: We use ordinary TG sheet metal as the material, with a lower tolerance limit, additional drilling and gong plate stacking, and control of copper hole tolerances. While ensuring quality, we do not excessively pursue quality redundancy and reduce costs.
